Vittoria Rubino PRO Road Tire Graphene 2.0 – For amateur racing and training
Designed for intensive training, it is equally suitable for racing events. The Vittoria Rubino PRO Road Tire builds on the standard Rubino platform (wire bead), utilizing the same exclusive 3C Graphene compound structure, long service life, puncture protection, and sharp handling traits, but substitutes a folding bead material for reduced weight. The Vittoria Rubino PRO Road Tire has long been a favorite for both training and racing, and with the addition of Graphene 2.0 technology compounds, is more versatile than ever!
The Vittoria Rubino PRO Road Tire Graphene 2.0 are designed as an all-rounder to tackle most road conditions, and they do a decent job. Durability and grip are its main traits and they can handle broken pavement and light debris very well.
The Vittoria Rubino PRO Road Tire Graphene 2.0 use a triple compound for the main part of the body, which Vittoria calls 3C. When leaning the bike over hard for corners and roundabouts you’ll find plenty of grip, and after a short bedding-in process, you’ll feel confident to let the bike go and get right to the limit. We find it a great tire for technical crit courses and or competitive rides, where grip and control are a must.
Vittoria Corsa Control Road Tire G2.0 is a fast tire perfect for wet-weather applications. The grip is excellent in corners, and the supple casing gives a really nice ride feel. If you opt for the tubeless version (TLR) the setup was easy, and the tires performed well on fast rides. A perfect mix-weather, competitive tire.
As far as ride quality it is really responsive for not having a high TPI count (150) however, after a few hundred miles the tires seem to become more pliable and give a better ride.
When it comes to rolling resistance, they are quick enough but you can feel that they aren’t a full race tire, and that is fine, there are plenty of other tires out there from Vittoria alone (check out the Vittoria Corsa Control) to give you that racers-edge feel if that is what you are looking for. The Rubino Pro’s are more of an endurance option or a technical/broken ground option where you want a reliable tire with a more grippy feel. It would be your go-to tire for everyday use or for that long day training session.
The Italian road cycling tire and parts manufacturer Vittoria has been an institution in the world of cycling. From the early days of wearing tubular tires across your back to the latest edition of the Tour de France, Giro d’Italia, and Vuelta a España. With possibly the most and most famous wins and riders crossing the finish lines and jumping on the podium using Vittoria tires.
The Vittoria Rubino PRO Road Tire Graphene 2.0 is a decent fast training tire, ideal for high-tempo club runs or centuries where the added advantage of having a slightly tougher tire outweighs the higher rolling resistance.
A key technology differentiator for and many other Vittoria bicycle tires is the Graphene (G2.0) compound.
Graphene 2.0 (G 2.0) takes the original Graphene compound foundation that Vittoria built, and functionalizes the advancements in performance, for each specific application. In other words, where the first generation of graphene compounds raised the bar evenly, Graphene 2.0 pin-points each performance metric and increases it disproportionally to the rest. Vittoria is now able to apply Graphene in such a way that it can achieve a performance boost specifically for speed, wet grip, durability, and puncture resistance of MTB and road bike tires.
